The Arya Vaishya or Arya Vysya community (also known as Komati) is a Telugu-speaking trading and business community. Traditionally guided by Vasavi Puranam, our members worship Goddess Vasavi Kanyaka Parameshwari as their kuladevi. Within the community, there are well–known sub-sects such as Gavara Komatis and Kalinga Komatis, each with their own rich traditions and Gothrams.

AryaVysyaSangam.com is a digital platform built to bring together Arya Vysya families, Sangams, youth groups, donors and students on one simple, searchable and verifiable network. Our focus is on community-to-community and person-to-person connection — not on handling money.
History & Identity
Historically, Komatis sought recognition within the Vaishya varna. Over time, community leaders, scholars and spiritual guides worked to align customs with Vaishya traditions while preserving our distinct practices, festivals and Gothra lineages. The Vasavi Puranam and associated traditions emphasize:
- Ahimsa (non-violence) and ethical trade
- Protection of dignity and self-respect of women
- Upliftment of community through education and charity
Across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and beyond, Arya Vysya families carry unique Gothrams and family Satrams, preserving community records and spiritual bonds over generations.
